ASTROLOGICAL FORECASTS

NEW MOON IN LEO ON 4TH AUGUST 2024 - FORECAST FOR ALL 12 SIGNS

NEW MOON IN LEO ON 4TH AUGUST

The new moon in Leo on 4th August is happening at 12.12pm UK time at 12º33’. The tightest aspect is the ongoing out-of-sign sextile between Pluto and Neptune about which I wrote two weeks ago. There are no other tight aspects going on but there are significant loose aspects that will tighten at the full moon in Aquarius on 19th August and that one is much more eventful. So what does it mean for us now?

The aspects in question are Jupiter square Saturn and Mars conjunct Jupiter. I’ve written a bit about the former but it’s worth repeating because it’s about 2020 and it’s everyone’s favourite year. ;-)

Years earlier astrologers like Steve Judd, Bracha Goldsmith or Roland Le Grand forecasted that 2020 would be a world-changing year on account of planetary conjunctions that are not only rare because they involve outer planets but also because they piled up in one year and one in which we also saw six eclipses on the axis that involved the sign in which the planets congregated. That was the year when I realised that astrology (and, by that, I mean proper astrology – not what you read in the papers) actually works. The rare conjunctions were Saturn and Pluto (12th January 2020), Jupiter and Pluto (5th April 2020, 30th June 2020 and 12th November 2020) and Jupiter and Saturn (24th December 2020). The Jupiter and Saturn conjunction occurs roughly every 20 years and roughly every 200 years it changes the element in which those two planets meet. That’s what happened in 2020 as the planets met at 0º Aquarius. The element changed from earth to air for the next 200 years and at the very beginning of a sign which is significant (there are other indicators that this decade is life-changing for humanity but that’s for some other time). A conjunction is the beginning of a synodic cycle. It's like a new moon. The first obstacle it meets is when the celestial bodies square one another so are at a 90º angle. It’s the time when whatever started in your life in or around December 2020 will have to be revised, revisited or tested because it will hit some sort of an obstacle. The exact Jupiter-Saturn square will happen on 19th August (on the day of the full moon in Aquarius, the sign where the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction took place in 2020). At the time of the new moon in Leo, the square will be applying which means they can see one another from the distance but aren’t quite there yet so you could see some things developing or potential consequences on the horizon but they haven't quite hit you yet.

The other significant loose aspect we have in the sky at the time of this new moon is an applying conjunction of Mars and Jupiter in Gemini. Mars is abrupt, incisive and explosive energy. Jupiter expands everything it touches. Gemini is communication and sharing information so we may have some explosive (literally or metaphorically) news in the media. Mars and Jupiter will also be the apex of one of the T-squares happening at the time of the full moon in August but more on that in two weeks. For now, however, this energy is flowing nicely and it gives you energy, drive and even a bit of luck around the time of this new moon.

Why am I writing all that now? When I look at the chart of this new moon, it looks as though something is about to happen. Something is gestating, growing, maturing or even boiling, considering that Mars is involved. At this time the energies are supportive so make the most of them before the full moon on 19th August. If those planets are touching the personal placements in your chart, the second half of August could be busy for you so make sure you prep for that.  I think the second half of August could be quite eventful for the world or some parts of it.

Of course, the people most affected by this new moon will be those who have planets or angles at around 12º of fixed signs (Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius and Taurus) and those born on 3rd-5th August, 3rd-5th November, 31st January-2nd February and 1st-3rd May.

Here’s the breakdown for all the 12 signs. Remember that this is a very general forecast and where this new moon and those planets fall in your chart might be very different for you. For a forecast specific to you, I’d have to see your own natal chart.

ARIES:

This new moon offers an opportunity to start something new in the area of your creativity, self-expression, children or passion projects. If you want to make an announcement about it, it’s a good time to start crafting your message. Your local community should be supportive at this time. There is a danger of self-sabotage so take time out to rest or do a reality check rather than give up.

TAURUS:

There is an opportunity to start something on the home front. There could be financial resources coming in to finance it or it could be a good time to make some money working from home. You could encounter some pressure or discouragement from the group you belong to or your long-term objective could suffer a delay but remember that it’s only temporary and perhaps you could do with a change of strategy.

GEMS:

You should have enough drive and energy to start something on any front but if it’s something to do with communication, vehicles, transportation or your local community, the time after this new moon is on your side (though do remember to double-check everything because Mercury will be retrograde most of the month). There could be some pressure or an increase in responsibility in your career or what you're known as. Remember that it won’t last forever and if you keep going, it will benefit you in the long-term.

CANCER:

For you, Cancer, this is an opportunity to start something new in the area of self-worth or earned income. Whatever you’re doing in the background, whether practical or psychological, is supporting your endeavours so keep doing what you’re doing. If your plans to do with education or travel haven’t panned out, take a good look at them and revise them if necessary.

LEO:

This is your new moon so it’s an opportunity to start something new in any area of your life. For the next two months, your friends or groups you belong to could be a source of energy and encouragement, and it’s a good time to progress any long-term objectives you might have. Make sure any matters to do with debt, investments, savings or any resources you share with others are taken care of.

VIRGO:

This is a new moon in a very private part of your chart so it could be a good time to take time out and recharge your batteries. Your job or career should support it and it may be one of the factors that will contribute to your well-being. However, your one-on-one relationships may get in the way. Recharge your batteries now before you encounter more friction at the time of the full moon later in August.

LIBRA:

This new moon offers an opportunity to start something new in the area of your long-term objectives or groups you belong to. Any educational endeavours or foreign travel will be a helpful influence that might speed up the process.  Make sure, however, that your health or daily responsibilities don’t get in the way.

SCORPIO:

This new moon is an opportunity for a new beginning in your career and public image. Any investments or savings you have made could prove to be of help or you could get a loan on favourable terms that enables you to set the wheels in motion. Make sure that whatever you do, you balance creativity and passion with what is practical and feasible.

SAG:

This is a new beginning in a very Sagittarian area so it could be fun for you. If you want to travel or learn something new, the world is your oyster and the people you have committed relationships with (personal and professional) should be supportive or even give you a metaphorical kick on the bum. All those adventures could cause some issues at home so make sure those matters aren’t neglected as a result.

CAPPY:

This is an opportunity to start something new in the area of shared resources, tax, debt, loans or investments and your day-to-day responsibilities are conducive to whatever you may wish to start. It could be a new loan or help from a benefactor. Alternatively, doing something at this time that positively impacts your health could have wide-ranging positive consequences for your life so it’s worth a try. You could encounter some friction in the area of communication, vehicles or transportation so pay special attention to them so they don’t get worse later in the month.

AQUA:

This is an opportunity for a new beginning in the area of your relationships. It could be that you meet someone new with who you will be able to work on a passion project or if you’re single, you could meet a potential partner. There are plenty of opportunities for you to go out and meet new people at the moment. Just make sure you don’t overspend because something to do with your earned income can come to light in the second half of the month.

PISCES:

This is a good time to start something new at work, introduce a new routine, exercise or health regimen. Your family and home situation will be supportive at this time but it might change later in the month so make sure you communicate. It is a time when you might be feeling that you’re taking one step forward and two steps back or life is making you become more responsible. It may become more obvious later in the month so the earlier you do a reality check, the better.
